 A WORLD OF STORIES

Now that you have shared a bit of your story in your letter to me, let's delve deeper into the ideas of 'stories'!

Think/pair/share activity

  • In the middle of your page write the word 'story'.

  • You have 30 seconds of thinking (no writing) about what the word 'story' means to you.

  • I will then give you 1 minute to write these ideas down around the word on your page. You might want to write a definition, the title of your favourite story or anything else that comes to mind- there are no wrong answers!

  • Finally, I will give you a minute or 2 to discuss your ideas with the person next to you before sharing with the class.

aaaand GO!

THE ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS FOR THE UNIT:

What is my story and why is it important?

How does my story influence my life?

What can we learn about others from their stories?

How do others’ stories affect and/or enrich my life?

JOURNAL WRITING:

1. In your book, write the title 'Journal Writing'.

2. Choose one of the Essential Questions (above) and write a response to the question. Aim for about half a page. You will not be marked on this. It is purely an opportunity for you to express yourself. However, you need to ensure you use correct spelling and grammar.
